My name is Alexander Beer and I’m the academic rep for Sheffield Neurosoc for the 2013-14 period. I am currently in my fourth year of the study but have taken a year out to do a BmedSci in Neuroscience. I am researching the genetics of familial ALS in SITraN. As Academic Rep I am responsible for organising revision sessions for students at all stages of the medical course. I also play a role liaising with professional development bodies and consultants, in order to organise interesting talks and provide guidance to anyone interested in a career in neurology. This year I aim to develop the Neurosoc online database and collect a wide range of teaching resources to meet the needs of all the year groups. I will also work with other members of Neurosoc to organise interesting talks for all the members of the society.
